Hmmm.

Seems plasuible, I guess. Althought the recent spy shots of the 9N3 GTI had US-sized rear number plates (or should we say "tags") on them which woudl suggest it the Polo was heading over there in its current guise.

Who knows... One thing is certain - the demand for a smaller-than-jetta VW in the states is huge right now. Just think what it would bring to us guys in terms of aftermarket parts... 8)

Deek.

Is does seem that this is become more certain. Offical news from the LA motorshow is that VW and DC are definately going ahead with their rumoured co-developed minivan, and a VW press guy has commented that VW are definately bringing a "smaller than Golf" car to the states in 2008.

Put that together with this snippet in the new Polo from 4Car (which I missed from a month or so ago):
All-new range brought forward in response to slow sales of current car; new line-up will ultimately include a two-seater roadster and a mini-MPV to rival Renault Modus, Vauxhall/Opel Meriva etc. Will also form basis of new supermini for Dodge (2008), as both VW and DaimlerChrysler both look to reduce their costs in an unprofitable sector.
and things are looking interesting...

Cheers for the link and info!

Seems very interesting... I wasn't sure that a Polo would work in the States, but then saying that, the Civic is pretty popular over there and with German build quality (or would that be Mexican?) I'm sure people would be interested in it.

If you read some of the threads on the vwvortex forum, there seems to be alot of interest in the smaller vw models.
