does any body find there cars slide when its wet. i found that before i got my new wheel and car lowered that you had to be much more careful in polos than most other cars.
does anybody else find they can slid in the wet?
unfortuantly i hit a post a few months back. oh and a road sign

which of course i took as a reminder to be careful. as i'm finally finishing my car up. and need a new front quarter as its quite dented.
my question is, is it illegal to have no side repeaters. as i'm thinking of getting them smoothed?
and finally does anyone know the colour code for anthicit(w**k spelling sorry) gray (pearl)
thanks

No skidding issues to report.
As for the side repeaters I dont think its a legal requirement to have them

what tyres do you have? my polo is quite bad in the wet, but better tyres make so much difference. The avons I have now are better than the kumhos in the wet.
you can get rid of your side repeaters no problem.
you can always reinstal into the side of the bumper if you feel you want them in the future. that's pretty easy to do.

All depends how you drive really, I've slid the GTi a couple of times, mainly because I was on the happy pedal, but if you're steady you shouldn't slide.

yeah. i learnt the hard way lol. not sure what the stock ones were.
but i got continental something 195/45/15 at the mo with it dropped 40mm. does make it alot nicer to drive. cant afford to be heavy on the pedals anymore. cant afford much petrol being a cheap student.

yeah my car can slide when its wet, used to just squeal a bit round corners but now upgraded to some 15 " TSW alloys with yokohama tyres and it handles so much better but does still slide out if i go too fast so easy solution slow down lol
Save all my sliding for one corner just as i enter work which is on private property was great today as was bit icy lovely long slide at 7am cant beat it.

Work yards are great for wheelspins as well with added smoke, not that I've ever done it.

Never had any trouble in the rain/wet road

driving on Kleber Dynaxer's, really gr8 tyres. Make sure you've got enough prfile on your tyres
