MKVII replacement ICE - advice please....

Hi all

I am not impressed with the radio/CD in my new Sport - the CD player won't even play MP3s!

Just looking for some advice on replacing the unit. I would prefer to replace with a double din unit if possible. I don't know if you can get a double din screen or something that looks original equipment without spending a small fortune.

Any suggestions??? Thanks!

What about getting a phatnoise as an add on for your existing headunit. You can get them off ebay for less than £200.

In terms of a new headunit, i've not seen many double din aftermarket units that look very good. Most include a tape deck and look very cheesy and bling.

You could always get a nice modern unit like a Becker which is very OEM like and just get the little tray for underneath it.

Hi Del

Thanks for the information. I really like the Kenwood touch screen - have always been a Kenwood fan and had a few Mask units in the past.

Think I will be saving my pennies!

Cheers.

Not a huge fan of Pioneer though this new one is a beast.

That one's nice yeah, I've got the DEH-P80MP I like it because it's real minimalistic, not too many buttons, and lit up it looks quality. Once Ive got the audio for my car and it all goes in it should compliment the dash very nicely.

Hey guys

Lots of good advice and nice units there. I bought my last 2 from car audio direct - excellent prices.

I love the look of the double din Kenwood.....

How nice is that! Save, save, save! Don't think I really want to go to a single din and have a gap in the dash unless the unit is ultra special and matches my dash illumination!
