right i wanna upgrade to climatronic from standard air con is this posible? i need to be 100% sure and how much is it gonna cost? thanks dan

Weil es einfach zu viel arbeit ist.
It's not just the control unit you need, it's entirely too much hassle for the gain you'll get. Besides, there's a good chance it won't work as it should, leaving you essentially worse off than you were.

To be honest, it isn't worth it even from the factory. Auto air con units have their own mind so I'm happy with semi-auto!

Wouldn't be without my fully auto climatronic.
Set it at 20 and forget about it. Never get steamy windows, always comfy in the summer and winter.
Does add a second to your 0-60 times though (on a Passat estate).

Yes but that the same thing you can do with Climatic - set it to 18 degrees and leave it - same deal no steamy windows etc.
Climatic is now going to be fitted across the range of Vdubs with the option to upgrade to climatronic. Like scorpio1 said, why bother?
