engine cover removal ??

how do i remove the engine cover on a polo gti ?, also are the leads and plugs easy to replace, and should i only use vw parts or is there any other good components i can use

There are four allen key bolts that hold the engine cover on.

If you look either side of where it says "1.6 16v" you'll see two grooves which lead to the bolts. The just follow the cover down towards the front of it and you should see two more bolts. Basically either side of the red bits!

thx mate, i take it the air filter is under there too ?

The Air Box is underneath there yes.

To get to the filter you need to open that up, there's a series of crosshead screws on the front, back and right (when looking at it) sides. Just be careful not to drop the screws when taking them out the back ones!
