Hey peeps,

Am after a suspention kit that inc shocks as well as springs to drop the car about 45mm.

I dont wanna go the coilover route as I dont really wanna go lower then 45mm, as the car used for family and shopping runs.

I know that you can adjust coilovers, but I dont think its an economical chose if am only gonna have it at that drop.

I was thinking about konis as from what I have read they seems to be the best for uprated shocks and springs.

Can any of you peeps point me in the right direction and give me your opinions.

All the places I have checked offer a 30mm drop they are a couple that offer 40mm, but I dont trust the brand, i.e. a budget set from venom called the viper-tech, had them on me mk4 one shock started to leak had to get it refurb.

Also one thing they give an est drop is this based on the standard mk5 or the GTi as the GTi is 10mm lower then standard.

One more thing do shocks and springs, give a more comfortable ride then coilovers or is it vice-versa.........

CHEERS PEEPS ! :D

Its not really my forte to be fair, I've been looking at coilover kits in favour of either a shocks and springs, or springs alone, application. I was originally going to go for Eibach Sportline springs but with a view to a part-ex in June (it's a possibility) I'm staying standard for just a little while longer until I've decided how long the Polo is staying with me :)

However, I've heard good things about Koni, Eibach, H&R or Bilstein suspension kits. Any of these would suit but I'm not up to speed on what they have to offer! Maybe have a word with JBS, Awesome GTI, Rennsport, and/or other VW specialists and tuners to get their opinion. I had a good old natter with a guy from Rennsport at the Deva Dubs and Rods show in Chester last year and he was more than helpful, basically said as you have that if you're not looking for ultra-low or adjustable suspension, springs and shocks are more worthwhile than coilovers.

HTH :)
