Sportline Roof Rack Installation
Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2006 6:27 pm
Hi Guys,
Just joined the forum as I picked up my new MKV TDI Sportline Polo from the Dealer in South Africa on Tuesday. I picked up a set of roof racks for the car today and have been rattling my brain to try and install them.
The problem comes in as there are no back doors. With the front doors open there is a drainage plug which screws out. A pin on the roof rack bracket slots into this hole. The rear roof rack also has a pin (Which cannot be removed).
There is however nowhere for this pin to go as the rear window does not open! The roof racks for the two and four door are the same, the instructions however only make mention of slotting the pin into the front holes, nothing of the back holes.
If anyone has fitted the vw roof racks (6Q0 071 126 A) to a Sportline before and could give me some advice I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks very much, now I can catch up on all the other cool information available here
