I wouldnt advise removing them I had them on previous Polo and that was lowered by 45mm and they rubbed too.

Id rather they rubbed then to take them off, main reason protects the paint work. Also if u remove them the paint underneath may mis-match the rest of the car due to UV wear and tear.

May come out with a lot of t-cuting.....

ive removed my mudflaps and the marks which are left underneath wont t-cut or wax out, ive got to have the whole rear bumper resprayed, and have the front wings done :( i just could not be doing with the scrubbing anymore, although my car is dropped alot more than 45mm !

i removed the front ones by locking the wheel (L on right side, R on left side) and removed them with an allan key. for the rear mudflaps i had to remove the wheel, and undid the allan bolts and screws - job done!

it will look much better when it returns from the bodyshop next week, and it means i can get on anf off my drive now

I think as your car is a light colour its easier to t-cut or renovate, but peeps with darker cars will have more problems.

Maybe a silly question but did you car run differently with them removed, as I tend to think that mud guards may add air drag.

Maybe to small of a change to notice a difference, just interested to see if it did................
