using a lot of oil

i seem to be topping my gti's oil up a hell of a lot, its not smoking, as far as i can tell it aint leaking, driving okay, so i cant tell what the hell is wrong with it. any ideas peeps?
also, if i change the oil myself, what is the exact amount to fill it up midway on the dipstick, anyone know?

it should say in your handbook how much oil to put in.

I changed the oil in mine and 3.5 L took it to just above min on the dipstick, it took just under 4 litres to the max.

Oh! My GTi only need 3L to reach the min mark on dipstick, If I fill
3.5L, it's over the max................

In the book its 3.2L to fill including filter, u sure u read ur dipstick right ?

Sure I have.........
may be the old oils not all release out when change oil
