Is it the drivers side or the passenger side?
The Lupo suffers from the drivers side drive shaft rubbing on the chassis leg once lowered.

I've lowered mine about 60mm and mine has some sort of knocking noise aswell. At times it doesn't make a noise but then there's times where its really annoying! It sounds like its coming from the drivers side, could this be the same problem. Is there anyway of curing this problem.

My mechanical knowledge is very limited.......could you not but some sort of rubber bushing in the way to combat the knocking problem!

hey mate, i know what that is!mine did that loads b4 i raises it a bit, i think its the steering arms hitting the inner body, they didnt make a noise until they wore away the rubber protection stuff and then started hitting the metal!!, easyiest way is to lift ur car a bit, a few mm will make loadsa difference! ( does it over bumps in roads yeh??) also i dnt think u want to put a rubber bump in there cuz it mite affect the arms movement!

my main problem is my drivers side driveshaft? u not had any creaking noises or anythink??

[email protected] if u wana chat bout it!lol

Prior to having my GTi lowered I had some problems with one of the CV joints on the driveshaft (not the end ones but the one that links the gearbox??). You can tell I'm not mechanical!!

Anyway, I got a knocking and vibration when under heavy acceleration and particularly when turning right. After it dissintegrated twice there have been no more problems (touch wood). Hope its not this but might be worth checking it out!

Lowered by 30mm but problems happened before I lowered it. The CV joint went twice yep  but I think the garage I used had fitted a dodgy reconditioned part the first time.

Cost about £100 to sort at a back street garage.....Good Luck, I hope you get it sorted.
