6n Component Wiring + Speaker Opinions

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I had a look around the forum and couldn't see it anywhere. A few questions really:
I've seen some Kicker EX6.2 components that I like the look of. OK, so I like the price (£50) more than the look, but you know what I mean. Any experience/opinions of these? I would be running them straight off my Kenwood 4x50w headunit as the only speakers and wondered if there'd be much of an improvement over the stock items. I reckon £50 sounds like a deal, but if I'm not going to notice much difference I may as well save £50...
This next bit goes for any component set up: I'm fine with actually fitting the drive units, but since I'd be using new crossovers am I right in thinking that I couldn't use the existing wiring? I guess that rewiring using some proper speaker cable would be better anyway, so my question is this: is it easy enough to run new cables to the original speaker locations or is it a dash off job? (I'll be honest: if it is a dash off job, then it's not happening)
Sorry for all the questions, I don't know much ICE-wise, but any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Andrew
