Just bought a MKIII Polo 1.3 coupe (1993) and have noticed that the clutch is pretty stiff (although works fine) Its got 107k miles on the clock, and not got and service history so don't know whats been done to it (although the car/engine is very clean and tidy, looks well looked after)
Is there a common fault on this model that might cause this, cable, pedal, clutch?
Also on this model / year do they have problems with the pedal box coming away when the clutch is stiff causing the welds to fracture?
Cheers
Stiff crutch!
my 1ltr mk3 had an extremely light clutch!, whereas my G40 has a heavier clutch! could be the G40 needs a heavier clutch due to the more power, however, i would check the clutch cable and change it. greasing up the clutch cable may help as well! other than that, you may have to live with it until u have the clutch out!
Now i'm a bit confused, is the 1993 a Mk II or a MK III?
In the boot of the car is a new clutch cable, part QCC1350. From looking on the QHA website i'm very confused now!!
It says this part is for a 1981-1994 MKII polo
for a MKIII 1994-1999 polo its says part QCC1600
Now whats weird is i thought MKII is upto 1990, then MKIII 1990-1994 and MKIV 1994-2000
It looks like quite a new cable on the car already, so maybe they've already tried this. Will have a better look at it on the weekend to see if its routed correctly and not kinked

lol @ Krupa
the VW polo models are very odd and confusing! it depends on where you are! but the common name for the polo you have is a mk3!
the reason a mk3 is mentioned as a 1994-1999 is because the mk3 mentioned on our forum, is actually a facelift of the mk2, so there for is a mk2F!
but i don't want to confuse you more! go by the year of the car, and for here, u need to remember its a mk3!
hope thats of some help!
