You can do what I have done/ intend to do, I have had an alarm fitted with remote central locking. I then intend to fit rear door handles from a 4 door onto my 2 door, thus de-locking the car. O.k, I'll be screwed if the battery goes, guess that's when I'll be climbing in through the boot.

Not sure, I have heard they are a straight swap, haven't attempted the door handle change yet.

they are very easy to fit, all you have to do is undo the star bolts ont he inside of the door (I cant remember the proper name for them!) and then slide the original handle out pulling it towards the front of the car. then its the opposite when you fit the rears, slide it in towards the rear of the car, and then tighten the bolt/nut things on the inside of the door. it took me no more than 5 minutes to do mine.

No mate, dont have to touch anything like that, just a straight swap of the handles. When you remove the original handles the majority of the locking mechanism comes out anyway as its attatched to the handle.
