IDEA, Plausible?? Engine experts L@@K!!

Post by chris_lofty »

I own a Mk. 3 Polo Coupe Genesis 1.3 single point injection model.

The engine code is AAV meaning its a boggy 55bhp (I think), what i was wondering is can I take the cams out of the 3F engine (Polo GT model) and put them into mine, theyre both 1.3 engines and probably both the same block etc. so is this do-able?

Also is there any other bolt on mods I can perform from other models to improve performance?

And one last thing, approximately how much will I have to pay for a re-map and is it worth it?

Cheers guys n gals,

Lofty

being such a small engine, u won't get big gains from carrying out performance mods!

however, something to think about maybe using golf mk3 parts to make up an induction kit! doesn't sound to bad when u push the pedal to the metal! 8)

Converting to run the Digifant GT injection and whacking a GT cam in there will give you a bit more poke. Won't be quite as quick as a GT though, and it's almost as much hassle as a full engine swap. Been there and done that, the GT/CL hybrid didn't last long...

you'd have to sort the compression as well, wouldn't you?

plus anti-knock sensor, air flow meter and full throttle switch etc
