my boyf has a mark 2 gti golf which he got back from the body shop just under 2 weeks ago, he had all the rust took out, dints took out and a full paint job. last wednesday he was talking to 1 of his mates in a car park when some girl smashed into his mates corsa, and pushed the corsa in to the golf

the girl driving the car doesnt have a licence and aint insured, some lad had let her drive his car, after letting all her mates drive it too. he's now turned into a complete tosser and told the police she stole his car (whilst he was sat right next to her in the passenger seat!)
the golf is probs gonna be a write off now coz of the age of the car and the likely cost of the damage. its such a complete mess, i cant remember the last time i was this stressed about something that isnt my uni work as he's not quite sure whats gonna happen yet. hes got solicitors on the case its just probs gonna take forever to get it all sorted out
obviously hes proper gutted coz the golf was on the way to being a show car, it was getting loads of work done over xmas ready for all the shows this year

I know how you feel, it happened to my mum and dad in Tesco's, someone reversed into their car and had no insurance.
Ended up costing them £250 excess, when the Police went round his house, all he said was "Prove it"
Was just a shame my folks didn't get the witnesses details
Hope you get it sorted though

"prove it"
be nice if you just answer that by burning their house down

through the help of a local cruise website we've found 3 independent witnesses to say the owner of the car was letting quite a few different people drive his car. but so far we have no idea what is happening with the driver, all we know is that she was arrested for, and has been chardged with TWOC, don't know if she has been found guilty of it, or if she has admitted to it yet. the arresting police officer has been off duty until tomorrow

always the case when you need to know whats happening

probs aint worth the excess he'll have to pay

If you have witnesses, then you want to get them to come forward and say what happened, that way you may still be able to make a claim for the Golf, otherwise if she's been arrested and charged with TWOC, then it's as if she had taken the car without him knowing.

not quite as he was sat in the passenger seat at the time and made no effort to stop her. the owner of the car even tried to pretend he was driving when my boyf got out the car, then said "pretend i was driving coz she hasn't got a licence"! when the police arrived all of a sudden his car had been stolen
my boyf has told his solicitor everything, and hres gettin in touch with police tomorrow to see whats happening and to tell them he has independent witnesses too

If uninsured I would've made them pay up there and then...
(failing to co-operate...well I would choke em to death)
