The stud size and PCD for the polo is 4x100, and I think the offset for wheels is about ET35.

When I had 15" wheels on my polo, I used 195/45/15 yokohama A539 tyres.

Hope this helps.

I'm speaking from personal experience, from when I had 15" TSW volcano's on my polo, but I'm 100% sure on the PCD. 195/45/15 is if you want to keep the same rolling radius as stock.

If you want more information on tyres and wheels, there's the MK4 FAQ thread in the MK4 forum, which is useful, as the MK4 and 5 are more or less similar to each other.

ET is the offset of the wheel. A lower ET means that the wheel sticks out more, and a higher ET means the wheel is sits further in the arch.

As stated in the MK4 FAQ, you should aim for an offset between 35 and 43. With ET27, there probably will be a bit of scrubbage, unless you go with a wheel with a width of less than 7J, you may get away with it, if it isn't too low.

ET explained- http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... php?t=1967

If you have any questions, don't hesitate asking them, as this place seems friendly and everyone here is happy to help.

time to put on my teaching cap...

this type of offset would be your standard alloy e.g ET38...

this type has a negative offset and would be what's known as deep dish...
