condensation

Hi guys and gals

Lately i have been getting condensation in my front indicator, what can i do to stop this?

Happens on mine 2, I think it happens on most mk5, dont knw how to stop it, its not that much so I live with it.

You can't, it's just one of those things. I get a tiny bit in mine, but as it warms up it goes.

Is it possible to take the whole indicator unit out and check it's sealed properly?

although i guess if it does it on most 6n's it could be a design fault.

If the condensation is in your headlight, turning them on and leaving them on for a few minutes should clear it. The lights are vented so any condensation should evaporate when they are switched on. Putting the lights on full beam should clear the moisture quicker!

its supposed to be quite easy to take the side lights out... don't quote me I neva tried!

I think the seal goes on them, I can see green growth on mine :shock:

Indicators, yes. Sidelights, that's up for debate!

me too!

I will change the lense if its cheap + when I get round to it, but i bet they cost a bomb.

I got green groth on mine too, and a fly!! mine is an SE :shock:

Yep, I plan to try replace the lense of all the lights on the front end, got hold of a brand new indicator unit, pass side, got it very cheap though :D (£5.50)

just need the other side and headlights now lol, keeping my eyes peeled, don't fancy getting them thru dealer/rrp price

I've had this on mine, I popped it out and dried it out in the house over night aided by a hairdryer. Popped it back on and I haven't had any condenstation since, if if starts again I will just replace the lense.
