the gti grille does look good and it will just clip straight in!! it doesn't look too outta place with the standard lower grills but if u wanted gti lower grills, then u'd have to buy foglights i think coz all gtis have fogs!
(but don't quote me on this)

The honeycomb gti grille, is well like honeycomb - the standard middle grille is made up of large slats
So you can replace this on its own. The lower grilles can be replaced also if you wished to, to complete the look and have everything matching
The standard lower grilles are made up of square/diamond holes, with cutouts for the foglights, as said above by Dan, all gti's had spotlights - i.e. cannot buy the lower honeycomb side grilles without a hole
Hope helps
This is when I only replaced the centre grille, have since done the lower one's too (my SE spec has foglights, easy to DIY them in if your spec does not have them though, if you wanted to)

have a look in the "order parts from vag-parts.com" forum, near the bottom of the main page! i'm sure someone recently put in an order for 6n2 foglights so all the part numbers should be there!
order them from vag parts, coz vw will try and blag that the loom has to be built up etc and they will be more expensive!!
first of all the wiring loom for the front fogs is already there tucked away behind the front grills, and the switch will need to be ordered with the rest of the kit!
there has been a DIY guide to fitting front fogs on the 6n2. this will list all the parts that u will need and there is a step by step guide about how to locate the loom, remove the grills, and then connect it all up! this is the one i followed when i did it and it was spot on!!
