Hi there, i own 2000 6n2 Polo 3dr. I've jus setup a set of Focal components to the front of my car, but i have a big problem, the door panel of my front doors are really poor quality and im afraid that my speakers are not stable enough with just 4 screws holding them against the door, (as you know focal’s are powerful) I believe I’ll need door ports to stabilize the speakers. Do you have any door ports for my car? and for how much? the speakers are 16cm, if you have any better way of securing the speakers to the doors please feel free to let me know. Oh, dyanmat wouldn't work :)

Thanks

err!!!!!!!!

use more screws, focals arnt that powerful!!! there not going to blow your doors off  guess they are ampped up, not like its a spl build or sound quality install

dynamat only stiffens the panels up not used to stick the speakers to the doors!!!,what are door ports! :?: never heard of them, seen some speaker adpators, spacers!!

but i guess just use more screws

Yeh i baught an audison amp to go with it, i was also thinking of buying a JL Audio sub, nothing big, jus a 12" 300 RMS with box, any sellers :) or tips on how i cud get my hands on it for a gud bargain.

Sorry i ment speaker adaptors, not door ports. Ive checked out sum posts on this an saw people screwing the speakers onto the door itself (the metal bit) can that be done in my car, coz i really dont want to screw it to the panel

yeh thats it screw the speakers to the metal frame, but if they have deep mags on them make sure that the window still goes all the way down if not make some spacer rings from mdf to space out abit, its a waste of time and effot to screw them to the door cards.
if you have got some dynamat use this round the speaker hole in door to stop any vibes.
ive got diamond audio m5 conpoments in my front doors now, £360 powered by alpine amp
in the boot 2x 12 jl 12w6 loud as f... powered by a trusty alpine mrv1000 install not to pretty to look at just yet

WOW, to jl 12"s that must be loud, around what figure am i looking at for just 1 jl 12" sub 300 RMS boxed?

Try www.caraudiodirect.co.uk, http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=1163 this would be a good one, just click where it says "Our Price - Click For Price" enter your name and e-mail address and they'll e-mail you a price.

Customer service is good and their prices are pretty good as well.

That's not expensive really, you pay for quality really, my 12" sub was £194.99.

JL Audio is in amongst the best makes out mate, you wouldn't be disappointed with it, a box is only £40.

A mate of mine had two JL Audio W3's that were stupidly loud, he got a score of 140.6db's!

Go for it mate 8)

yeh i know which ones ur talking about, but its second hand, and when it comes to speakers i dont really trust anything but brand knew. I would rather pay the extra 50 or 100 pound and get my hands on a brand knew untouched 1 :D

Thanks anyway

I suggest you wait for a month or so to buy a W3. There is about to be a absolutely ridiculous clearance deal coming out on the W3v2 subs as they are coming to the end of the line soon.

I should imagine if you can give it between 200 - 400w RMS at 2ohm you'll be fine mate.
