Sub and Amp Problem?!?!

I finally got my 15" Sub and Amp finished the other day, and it was all working fine and then a few days ago, it suddernly cut out for some reason. It can't be the fuse because the Amp still has Power, I've checked all of the cabling from the head unit to the amp and the amp to the sub etc and I really can't work out why its not working.

Any Ideas?

Cheers

hello
has you amp got a power lamp,if so what colour is showing, most have dual colour green or blue when power supply ok, or red if there is a problem
check all your fuses, most amps have two fuses built into one side of the amp,
check power supply with an electrical tester, make one with bulb holder and wire for cheap check
next check that you have good connections on all cables, live from fused distrubution block from there to the fuse at battery, check that the cable has caught when being pulled in,
have you a good clean earthing point
are your RCA cables secure, come apart, tape the connections to stop then coming apart
has the sub been turned off on head unit, try adjusting,
please check all above, and let us know :D

Ok the Green light is on, But there is also a Red Light on as well, any ideas what might be causing the warning light? The earth seems ok to me... its clean through to the body....

if the red light is on,you have probably got a short to earth,ie cable insulation split somewhere.
what head unit are you using,
when i fitted my alpine, had same problem, traced it to dodgy remote wire from head unit,
changed it from the remote turn on for amp to the electric ariel wire works fine, never had this problem in any other car which i have owned!!! :o
try it,it work for me
hope this helps

hi, yeh sorry not very clear,
on alpine head unit, remote wire is blue with a white line
try changing this
connect remote turn on from amp to the the all blue wire, this is the electric ariel wire which works in the same way,it cured my problem

Ok so to put it short.

Pull the Head Unit out.
Unplug Remote wire from Blue/White wire.
Plug Remote wire into full Blue wire.

Job done? fingers crossed

hmm I have got the fli 1000watt built in amp with the sub and mines has a red light but it sounds great I just thought the red light was the colour that came on when the amp turned on, Do I have a problem?

If it plays then the chances are, no.

The red light on most amps is the protection light, and when that's on the amp will not play. 8)

This cutting out may also be from having the gain on the amp turned up too much. Try turning the gain nob down a bit and this should sort the problem out. If it still continues to do it turn it down a bit more until the problem is rectified.
