Misfire ?? any ideas ??

Setting off at a roundabout today i put it into 2nd and put my foot down and the response was nothing then it just kicked back in as normal - only seems to happen in 2nd
is it a timing issue ??
New spark plugs or they need a clean ??
New HT leads ??
Tuning ??
any ideas anybody ????
any help would be brilliant

Hmm probably best to start with new plugs, as they're not expensive.
What's the mileage? You had them changed before?

Im on about 47000 dont know if they have been changed - i think i might do it anyways !!
any idea how much HT leads are ??

yeah mine kind of misfires now and then in 2nd gear. the spark plugs have never been changed and i've done around 42000 miles.

Im just going to go ahead and change the HT leads and Spark plugs just to see !

Ah the old delayed reaction thing again? What you need to do is go on a motorway at 80 for about an hour. Its got carbon on the O2 Sensor amongst other things.
If you take it to a garage they will do an italian tune up (which means drive it at 60mph round the block in 2nd)
Thrashing it won't help, what you need is sustained very hot and lean.
-Short journeys are the worst thing for cars in winter it never warms up and screws it up.
