Side repeaters

A productive Sunday morning:

- washed the car
- cleaned my dirty TT pedals
- went out for a spin and took the video(s) re the exhaust
- fitted those crystal side repeaters that have been on my desk for yonks (thanks mysteryboy!)
- removed my old numberplates (old rear 'plate had water damage, front 'plate had a small crack in it)
- fitted new 'plates front and back, now they match and look much much better for it!

Just tidying up the little things before next weekend (Ultimate Dubs) - hoping to find time for some claybar action but I think it is going to be too cold/wet. Thanks to ModifiedMadness for the advice on removing and re-fitting the side repeaters (you posted a bit of a "how-to" in your thread about them), it turns out it really is a piece of cake and the new ones look smart as **** 8)

I was considering buying a pair of numberplate surrounds but have changed my mind as I couldn't find any I liked enough, I'm a fussy old git!

Need black badges front and rear now and to remove the 'POLO' lettering from the bootlid, might tackle the lettering this week (spare hairdryer is around here somewhere) but the badges will have to wait until next month though as my paycheck is already all but spent on other stuff (like road tax)!!

Pictures of the new repeaters will follow after I've had something to eat!

Cheers

Pic of the old repeaters was way out of focus, but never mind.

Definitely on the list of "must-do" little mods - the little things make all the difference!!

Nice shirt

Though I have one just as bad for working on the car.

Know what you mean about the number plate surrounds, I nearly got some for my German plates but wasn't convinced by any of the ones avaliable.

I bought them side repeaters as well, they're much better than what was on there.

The standard ones are more of a frosted type plastic, whereas those ones and perfectly see through.

Haven't got a pic of the old ones on the car so here they are 3 minutes ago looking... used.

Apparently some of the later ones had it, although mine is a 2001 and didn't?

Still I've got them now

Here's a better pic (taken from www.Awesome-GTi.co.uk )

I've got the clear ones, not the crystal ones on my GTi. That's on a 51 plate.

My 2000 Polo and my parent's old 1999 Bora had the "frosted"-look repeaters but their 2002 Bora has the crystal-look late-spec repeaters. Must have been mid-to late 2001 or early 2002 when they were changed across the range?

Definitely a different fit between mk4s and mk5s though, which catches a lot of owners out!

My ones were labelled up for a Golf I think.
