Got in my car tonight after work & the inspection service indicator appeared. I have just taken the car in for an oil service (10,000 miles)end of January.

Reading through the manaul it says if an oil service is due just a few months before an inspection service, get the inspection service done instead. (to save money i think) :?:

I paid about £129 for the oil service, didn't know anything about the inspection service, do i have to get it done or can i wait till the 20,000 mile service :?: :?: :?

Any advice :?

Where did you take it for the 10k service?

If you take it to the dealers or any other reputable garage the 10k service will involve oil and filters changing (inc pollen filters) and them checking all the other levels and also brake pad thickness. The "inspection service" indicator is just a fancy word for a normal service. Usually the dealers reset the warning after the service but looks like the ones you went to forgot. I can't rem how but you can reset the indicator yourself, have a search on this forum.

The diff between the 10 and 20k service is that at 20k they change the brake fluid.

Btw has you car only got 10k miles on it?

I took the car back to the garage today & explained to them the problem, they just reset the service interval.

 I wish it had, 50,500 miles on the clock (i sould have said 50,000 mile service). :D
