My speedo has had the clockwork 'ticking' noise for some time now, caused by the speedo cable i assume.
Just recently this has developed into an intermittent screech between 50 & 70mph, this was amusing at 1st but now is getting really really annoying.
Is my best option to solve this on the cheap simply to grease the moving parts that connect to the speedo cable? Or am i gonna have to start looking for a new speedo?
Cheers.

Packing the end of the cable with grease stopped mine from ticking, so it might just help the squeaking. Worth a shot

That's weird I was going to ask a while ago about the ticking and then last night coming home at around 70ish it started howling at me like a banshee!
Logged on to see what was up and you lot have already answered my question. Cheers
