The bit with all the plastic clips on, is the bit that attaches to the bottom of the bumper.

You cannot fit it the wrong way, unless you use nails

I fitted mine outside the VW dealership so if you cant manage at home id be ashamed

Get a m8 to help stretch it around as you put it on, else you will find you might come short at the other side of the car

its a complete bastard to do, if i was you i would make sure you get someone to help, dont make the same mistake i did, lost quite a lot of skin off my fingers that day.
