Gearbox For Diesel AGAIN!!!

Hi,
This time it's major - it now sounds like the final drive is completely f**ked! There is a whine in every gear and gets really bad when putting power down or when letting your foot off the pedal when still engaged in a gear. I'm now thinking it's time to scrap and get something else.
I definatly want to go for another polo i think because at the min i can't afford the Mk4 Golf TDi I would like.
