Shocks without lowering

I have been doing a lot of shock shopping over the past week as my pretty little mk2 coupe has been bouncing around like zebidee.

My problem is I was looking to uprate my shocks without adjusting the ride height. I was wondering what everyone else uses. I have been in contact with g-max and found that there shocks can be used with the original springs.

Can anybody tell me if there are any other brands that I can use the standard springs with? I have been advised to go for spax or eibach but spax have discontinued there line of non-adjustable shocks.

After that I just have to do the tappets and i'm finished... Except for the bodywork and the paint and the tyres and the alternator and the wheel bearings, but after that i'm done.

i think most people will always advise you to do shocks and springs together as the ride won't be as good with standard shocks and they'll wear out alot quicker but i think the official word is that you can use standard shocks up to a 40mm drop and then after that you definetly need uprated shocks. (although i'm with the above group  )

try www.venommotorsport.com they seem to do pretty good deals, for the extra £100 i'd personally just buy the whole kit to be safe.

I think you missunderstand, I would like to replace the shocks but leave the original springs in place as I do not want to lower this car.

All I want to know is:

Are G-max the only company that does non adjustable Shock absorbers that will fit on the car with Original manufacture Springs (exlcuding standard shocks)

sorry mate, must not have read that properly at all :? i've never heard this being done before though. probably have to wait for someone abit more in the know about suspension

venom do SPAX and venom shocks but it doesn't say if they work with orginal springs.

Maybe a daft question, but why not use VW shocks?

not a daft question, but why buy standard parts when there are better aftermarket alternatives.

I might wrong as i'm still new to this, i'm still just getting my feet wet, but i'm figuring if I change to uprated shocks it will improve damping, and handling.
