HELP HELP AVO

hi i have a pair of avo coilovers on my mk2 golf and i need some help!!!
do the spring cups(not the bottom adjustable one the top one) at the top of the spring fit rigid or are they able to move freely up and down the rod ? i need to know any ne help!!! plz lol
