Anyone know the part number for the G60 carriers??

Tried my local vw parts place and they said theres 2 types a late/early! They have a very slight difference to them both just want to know which one people have used!

And am i right in sayin you still use the same pads and not G60 ones??

Cheers

Ash (polo2k) quote the following part numbers back in January:
Calipers (443 615 123/4FX) £56.62+VAT each
Caliper carriers £50.62+VAT each
Discs (280x22) (535 615 301) £37.67+VAT (per set)
Countersunk bolt for discs £0.05+VAT
1 Set of pads (OEM) (357 698 151B) £38.79+VAT
I think the part number for the carrier is 857 615 125, and the difference between earlier/later could be down to four-stud and five-stud parts? Not sure about the pads mate. :)

I got the discs and carriers from vag parts the part number for the carrier quoted on the invoice is 357 615 125C, (discs part number is the same as asbove) the VAG 280mm discs work well with pagid fast road pads. This is the setup I have on mine just now and its a big step up from the standard 256mm discs and pads.

The G60 pads are thicker than the Polo ones as the calipers are slightly wider its a bit hit or miss if they fit some people get them in OK others don't. I just used pagid GTi pads I already had and they fit fine, there was enough clearance on my calipers to put the G60 pads in though but other people have had to either sand down the slider pins for take a couple off mil off the pads for them to fit.

I needed to replace my discs when I upgarded them, for some reason at the time the VAG 280mm discs were actually cheaper than the 256mm ones ! I would say its well worth the upgrade even if you don't need to replace you current set. Mines worked out at just under £200 got the carriers/discs from vag parts and the pads from GSF

Thats also one of my future mods. What would be needed to change the rears to 256mm? They look so puny :(

if u are patient then u may find second hand carriers from a scrap yard.

i managed to source a set of carriers from a Passat 1.8 20v (non turbo) with 280mm discs for £30, also got a set of discs from a G60 that someone had but never used for £25, then i just got some new pads ( i asked for G60 but i reckon i wud o been better just askin for polo pads now) £30.

so thats only £85 for a G60 upgrade! :D bargain!

just rubbed the carriers down a bit and gave them a lick o paint!

if u look hard enough u will find the right bits!
