is this the right clutch?

i picked up a clutch on eaby

borg n beck /delphi hk9114 190mm

will this be okay for my 1988 1.3 polo 4 speed engine code mh.....its just a mate checked on ekta and theres 2 listed for mh cars

any help

That sounds like the right one.. it's a while since I looked into clutches but if I remember correctly the early MH engines had a 180mm clutch with a different centre bore size, and then the clutch was increased to 190mm for the later models.. something like that anyway. Hopefully someone else will confirm that though..

was the main change for bits 86? thing is im after a box as well, someone has a j reg one :? im trying to get the code so someone can help to check its right

190mm is the right size for an MH engine. Ahh borg n beck, that takes me back. My first polo had just had a new borg n beck clutch when I bought it. seemed to do the job quite nicely. 8)

god knows what it is....the box says borg n beck , but the friction plate has luk on it :? i got it for £22 all inc from ebay so im happy with that

gareth , im onto a gearbox for that car ...i migh thave to check with you if its suitable , you seem to know about em 8)

Box code 8P or CEG are suitable for the MH engine. GSF sell Luk clutches but It might be worth checking wether or not theyre the same company.

the plate will be fine... as they are all thwe same.... the only difference is the thrust bearing.....

gareth ...apparently the gearbox on offer is from a j plate 1300...ive asked the seller for the code so i can check on here thats its ok before i buy
