okay, so heres my very first question to you guys... will top front strut bars/braces from the 6n2 gti fit non-gti models? they're kinda hard to come by. alternatively, will those from the 6n model fit? just want to minimise the body flex on my car when i throw it around bends. cheers!

Hi there,

You are talking about an upper stress bar that is inserted between the two suspension/shock towers in the engine bay? I wouldnt have thought that these are all that efficient as the firewall and frame surely already secure it enough????

I have heard that a rear stress bar is a great addition to increase stiffness and handling?

I'll let someone who has them confirm this or shoot this down in flames... i could very well be wrong.

Redline has one fitted to his 6n2 GTi, his comments were that it definitely improved matters :)

It looked to be adjustable so IMHO there should be no reason why the strut brace in question (an OMP one) wouldn't fit a 1.0/1.4? Don't take my word as gospel but I reckon you would be OK :)

...apparently it should fit polos from '94 to '01.

Right, the part in question is a strut brace. It spots the suspension turrets flexing under cornering. The Gti and the non gti should be the same, with it being the same chassis.

If i could afford it i would defo go for it, or save the moey towards some coil overs!
