I think the GTi brakes are a larger radius and thickness so you would need to change the calipers to the GTi ones which would mean changing the brake pipes, and bleeding the new calipers and to be honest the GTi brakes arnt exacly amazing, get some green stuff pads and some decent disks and youll be stopping pretty quick

Do you guys actually have any experience of GTi brakes?
I can tell you that they stopped me pretty quick at 50mph when the car infront had to slam it's brakes on, it was maybe 2 metres infront of me if that.

just because there gti dosnt mean that EBC green stuff pads cant do the same, all im sayin is that its alot of work 2 change it ova for summit that has gti labelled 2 it, it may not work the same as its from the G40

polo gti being best in its class... would be classed as a performance car right? - Meaning more power/torque would need good stoping power.
Meaning if it can stop the gti it would have no problems stoping a 8v polo in no time and deffo an impressive improvement for the 16v.
Can someone actually help answer the guys question instead of making a bunch of useless replies.

I'm sure it has been asked and answered before somewhere on here, that may have been for the MK5 though

Is there much point. The car comes with brakes that are good enough to stop it.
Unless your car is like super quick I wouldnt bother. But if they are free then why not.
