Hello, I am from norway, and got a huge interest in older polos. We who hold this interest up here, is a pretty small group, therefore I have chosen to show you my project.. hope you like it.. Just to show you that us norwegians can to ;)

it is a old skool projekt of an 77 - derby.. when I bought it a year ago, it was in a poor condition due to the norwegian winters and all the f****** salt that is sprayed on the roads
this is how it looked when it arrived.

I also bought a 76 polo at the same time. this was actually in a slightly better condition.

I soon started to dismalt the car and found out that the rust had had a big party here.. I totally had to weld up the car, changing a lot of metal parts.

A couple of pictures of what happends to the car during this process, massive welding and hard work.

I soon found out that also I had to change the front plate, so the hunt for a new one began.. I found one on german ebay, and after a lot of work i found a friend who could bring it up to norway, and the welding could start over again.

The car was now after a few months whitout rust and ready for modifications and some paint.

I had mounted at 80/60 lowering kit from triple s on tha car, something that did not harmonize with 15" wheels :)

also a bit about the two cars i had for parts, a 75 audi 50 and a 77 polo.. The derby i found in an old garage, the aidu in the back of a little forrest, where it had stood for about 20 years.. the most rusty car I have ever seen :)

luckily, a friend came and helped me with his quattro coupe.

He, he.. Thank you :) I se a lot of you are from kent.. I often visit a little place called madstone. There is a large gathering of military cars on the beltring hop farm there. would have been fun to se some of your cars if I am going this year..

well, the project keeps on:

This was in last august: A buddy of mine rang and said that he had found an golf gti rabbit with a leather interior on the scrapyard, so i git down there and bougt it.. I used the seats from the rabbit, and the carpet and doorsiden from the blue polo I have. The blue polo now have the black derby interior. I also build golf mk2 gti 239 brakes in the front. The intrior in the derby ended up quite well I think.

I welded the back lid, to get it clean and mounted an electric opener from the inside. also removed the hole for the antenna and other small things.

the car was ready for paint after a few weeks:

This car is supposed to be finished in the start of june, when the main gathering of norwegen vwaudi club is. The only problem is that I do not have the left side ( same side as the steering wheel is on Norwegian left hand drive) chrome trim for the front. I was wondering if anyone had one that I could buy ? I am talking about the small plastic list on the side of the front.. small and easy to post.. has to be in a ok state and at least with 3 remaining taps at the back.. Thanks :)
