i've been told i need to have the pulleys replaced too, so do ineed to buy them separately?

while you're at it get your alternator belt changed too, and get the waterpump looked at...

Yeah do the waterpump while you're at it, because if that goes you're looking at the same consequences!

In fact I'm ordering my bits in the week, the previous owner said it's been changed but I can't find any paperwork to prove it

Not worth the risk

getting the timing belt, tensioner and water pump all supplied and fitted (with guarantee) next week for £200

Seems a fair price considering the length of the job, parts prob come to no more than £50
