How can I find the colour code for my Polo?

Its a medium metallic blue, on a '82 classic.
I need to get some paint mixed to repair a couple of dents, but its cheaper if i know the code rather than having it colour-matched.
Any ideas?

there should be a sticker in the boot stuck on the rear panel. Medium blue metallic is a much later colour, (mk3) yours looks like its regatta blue, code LB5Y You can probably still get paint direct from vw

LOL - I didn't realise medium blue metallic was an actual colour! I was just trying to describe it!
I'll give VW a ring before I get any made specially.

mines la5y if it looks anything like myn- helios blue metalic
