hI all

I do realise there is a wanted and 4 sale page but thought i may get a better reaction out of the mk3 boys.Has any one got a 4 speedbox for a mk3 coupe they want to sell.Also I am stripping a mk3 golf if anyone wants to buy any parts give us a shout , I am based in the chester area

well, if you REALLY want it, i've got one taking up space in my shed. it's maybe not in the best of conditions, but it works for now. if you're au fait with such things (i'm not) it might need one or other of the shaft bearings replaced, other than that it's fine, and was running ok (other than the occasional "is that a worn bearing??" symptoms) when i took it out. 1.3 spec (8p ratios minus 5th, 4.0625 diff). free to yourself if you collect, as i might get a quid for it from the scrapman and would probably spend as much in petrol getting it there.

north end, i've got junctions 6 and 7 within spitting distance (relative to chester, anyway) ----- see PM

though you might be as well to check the local scrapyards as any polo with a box still in it will probably be a 4-speed :D (that's what i found when looking for my 5-shifter) and you might be able to talk them into giving it up for less than your petrol would be!
