engine help

hi people ive fitted my alloys , not droped it yet as my differ barings r goin n the garage sed i will need a new gear box n he sed 450 plus vat , so i was wondering if it would be best to do that or try n fit a 1.6 in , but was wondering wot size engine u can fit in a mk4 polo T reg 1.4 8v ?
i will upload some pics 2moz of me polo n new alloys
is there any chance of fitting something like a 1.6 gti out of a golf or anyfink please reply

How much money are you willing to spend,
its not that easy doing engine conversions, usually comes down to electrics, nothing ever matches up...
If you have a deep pocket... well..... you can make anything fit into anything,
ive seen VR6 engines in polo's...and the 2.8.... so yeh! ......

They never made a 1.6GTI golf, just a 1.6 driver, the gti was a 1.8, that would go in, off a mk2, the seat ibiza GTI is a 2lt flat four like the polo one, just a bigger head really, so that should be alright, i would personally put a 2ltr 16v ibiza gti in if you were going to the extent of swapping engines do it properly.

mmmmm 2.0l in my polo i would love that , now you see me now you dont lol . how much am i talkin 4 a conversion cus ive gota get a new gear box anyway so i fort i cud pay a few quid more n get a quicker engine in it instead
