Electric Windows Problem

Hi guys and girls,
havent been on here for a while, havnt had my car for a year as my mum was using it. Got it back now along with all the problems these cars have.
The drivers side electric window is giving me some serious problems. It used to be a bit dodgy but would eventually start working. Now i think its had it completely.

Basically when you try to operate the windows, through the switch or the even the key in the door(comfort module thingy) the driver side window just make a clicking noise and the glass will not budge. Its like the motor is stuck or jammed.
The switch is fine, thats been checked and replaced plenty of times. I have stripped the door down to try and 'spray some lube into the motor' as some people have mentioned before. This is actually impossibile to do, or am I just looking at it the wrong way?

I cant even get the motor out as the window has to be down in order to do it, and seeing as the window isnt working, not sure how im supposed to take the motor out?
I have checked the 12V feed going to the motor and this seems to be fine.

Im now all out of ideas, im not sure exactly how to take this mechanism out of the door having stipped it to the bare minimum. Anyone got any ideas?

Also I have got hold of VAG-COM and was just wondering if there is anyone I can do on there to work out what the problem is??

Its a bit of a strange problem, but I have a feeling its down to more than just the motor.

Anyone got any ideas what do with this electric windows problem before I go mad and just sell the damn car? To not have the use of a window in this heat is just a p*** take.

Any help would be appreciated guys,

cheers

sorry for late reply

put window down, and using straw spray it between glass and rubber part

spray in between rubber lining basically, do whole window.

Window will be greay, leave this for a few days then clean off!

fixed it guys,
turned out to be something so simple...
The ground wire was split in the wiring loom between the car and the door. Even though the motor was clicking it turns out this was the cause of the problems. All fixed now and didnt cost me anything to fix!
