suspension trouble?

im gonna hopefully be lowering my classic 70mm in time for vw expo and want to know if i can just bolt the s**t on or if i would need to get the thing set up like camber and tracking. im pretty skint so hopefully not please help me as im gonna be dropping it soon. also any hints or tips on the drop job would be great thanks.

any time you touch the suspension it will need tracking done i'm afraid mate, although if you could afford the cost of the lowering kit, surely another £20-40 extra won't make much difference? :?

would it just be the tracking that needs doing bud or the camber as well?
if i dont get it done what would be the bad effects?

tracking and camber normally gets done together as standard and if it's not done then it can make your car drive a bit dodgy, pulling to one side, odd bumps and strange noises, just puts unnessescairy stresses on the new parts :wink:

And whoever you take it to for the tracking doing... dont be surprised if they say you need new trackrod ends. Certain places will say this whatever, just to get a few extra quid out of you, but at the end of the day, if they're 20 years old, they probably will need doing sometime
