I've had my polo for a while and its starting to take shape nicely...Doesn't look all that great in the photos because I couldn't be arsed to clean it before hand!







Got a few questions/problems that maybe some of you could help me with....I want to spray my standard black grill white but I can't work out how to take it off to spray it.
My window rear left doesnt wind down anymore, I can wind down the winder and then push the window down and then wind the window back up but it doesnt wind down properly!
I've got remote central locking however my driverside door wont unlock with the key at all anymore it just turns both ways without catching.

Any advise on what I should do to my polo next, let me know....I've got some VW Motorsport White 15's on order at the moment as well.....

Next step = get stuff fixed. its all good making a car look nice, but if your trying to show off and you cant even unwind a window it looks a bit lame.

The mechanism isnt gripping the glass by the sounds of it in the window situation. Dont know how to rectify it soz!

Grill: remove headlights then its somthing silly like 4 screws and it comes off piece of p***. Spray it yourself dont pay sum1 to do it. Madness. Painting is easy youve just gotta be patient with the damn thing. Preperation is everything. Scrub her up nice like with different grades of sand paper starting with the roughest and work down. Then apply the paint thinly in layers. Dont rush the paint cos youll ruin the job. Its p*** i dun mine.

Your gonna need proffesional ass-istance on the lock and window im afraid. Unless we ahve a genious near by...

Lower the badboy. Will handle better and looks better

Ant, I tried taking off the card today but couldn't work out how to get it off....how do you do it?

The sticker is on there until I get my tints done better, the guy that done them screwed the back window up good and proper so the sticker covers it!

Wet & Dry is better

and the white sunstrip must go, replace it witha deep tinted sunstrip, its far betta, thats wot i have

ah maybe as a finishing touch. But i always use a good rough paper to remove andy nastyness and get the majority of previous paint off. Then fine sand or as you say, wet and dry. If you start with wet and dry your gonna be there for ages. Or atleast, one would assume so.

its in the haynes book how to get the door card off. by the sound of it, the grip isnt holding the window. should be a case of poppin the door card off and placing the window back into the grip and tightenign the little bolt up on the grip. its easy to do just a bit fidely.

I've used wet and dry for all of my spraying so far, (black plastic behind the rear badge, GTi badge, front grille badge) started off with 240 wet and dry, followed by 400 followed by 800 dry then 800 wet and was smooth as a baby's ass after all of about 20-30minutes.
