Paint Code.

Could someone tell me how to find out exactly what colour my car is, I know it has something to do with the sticker thats in the boot of the car.
And would this be a RAL colour.

Yes, it will be on the code sticker. RAL colours are uni-colours, so that's not an OE Volkswagen colour for sure. Look for a code that starts with "L" followed by a letter, then a digit, and finally a letter.
Example;
Mine is Dragongreenpearl: LC6P
If you know the code, we can look up the name, or vice-versa. Karl is working on a paintcodes guide.

According to 'the list', that colour is 'Surf Blue' (Solid).
Does that sound right?

Yep that sounds about right. I was actaully looking for a RAL number or something so that i could order it through work, Does it tell you that or will i have to look at the color chart.

this is from the VW paint chart
RAL Colours are not listed individually, For the paint number the "R" is replaced bt "L"
So yours would be RA5C

Whats the color code for Marcarto Blue (something like that anyway)?

If anyone has a list of mk3 colours and how to adjust for 10+ years of fade that'd be proper bo. My paint code stickers melted long ago..
