Further to my earlier posting, does anyone know what them blue connecting blocks are called (that allow you to join wires without cutting them - crimping blocks/wire taps????) The expensive alarm I bought off eBay didn't come with any and am having trouble getting hold of any.

Can you also post web sites in the UK where I can get them just in case my search comes up with zilch?

TIA

I think you are reffering to 'bullet connectors' and these can be easily got hold of from any good diy store and the your local ripp off merchant aka halfords

They're the ones i was thinking about adam (your 2nd maplin link) i used to call them 'scotch blocks' for some reason, not entirely sure thats their correct name though lol

sholder the joints then use heatshrink to cover the joint! do not scotchblock them!

sholder joints are more reliable then skotch blocks what ever you call them less chance of false. alarms are sensitive if theres a bad joint then you could get false alarms.

scott / scotch crimps or something daft like that.

personally speaking you cant go wrong with solder and leccy taping twisted strands (will reliably carry at least 50w RMS, trust me )... tried using those clippy things, they were crap and drove me mental!
