right here is my car it's a polo 16v. it has 16inch alloys with 195-40-16 tyres. (pictured are 195-45-16 but they scrubbed alot when turing so they had to go) i need some advice on how much to lower my car. id love to slam it but it is just not possible living in jersey (channel islands) the roads here are terrible and there are speed bumps every were. been as there arent many straight roads here i need the optimum height for handling. i no some of u might think the lower yout car is the better it will handle but this just inst true. there is an optimum height for handling on most cars usually abot 30-40mm but i dont no what it is for the polo. so how low should i go. i only want springs as i have a set budget of no more than 150 quid. ive heard good things about eibach are there any othere decent springs out there. and before anyone says the roads cant be that bad trust me they are.

sorry for the bad quality pics but there the only ones i have at present.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks
mike

thanks. i only paid 80 quid for them. there mint only had one curb mark. had good tyres aswell just they rubbed alot. so i got some toyo t1r's instead. idealy i should leave the ride height alone cause ive hit the bottom a few times already. but it looks s**t how it is at the moment.

I've quoted what mike1 said because I'm interested in lowering as well and I am in his same situation when it comes to roads, the only difference I have 195/50/15.
Any help?

in answer to how low should you go-
-60mm with no problems
-80mm maybe light scrubbing (but then again maybe not)
Either way you cant go wrong.

the roads really are shocking here u may think ur roads in the uk are bad. well ours are much worse. as i have said ive ground the bottom of my car a few times at speed already and that is with standard ride height. so i dont think id get away with 60mm well maybe if i obeyed the speed limit (40mph) which im not going to do. ive heard the 50mm eibachs dont actually lower 50mm so i might go for these. vdubyabush where did u get urse for £110 from. cheapest i have found is £140
