Today i accidentally scratched some idiot's car and wondering if it's 100% my fault or can i say it was his fault.
It was a very badly lit car park and he was parked as shown below.. I was judging my reverse by the white lines.
Fortunately damage to my car is minimum nothing T-cut can't get out, on his car it's exactly the same thing but then he started pointing out all the "apparent" dents, which do not line up with the same height of the scratch area. I'd really appreciate if someone could give me a quote on repairing a scratch on a 5 door focus rear door of abotu 20cm length and one minor dent.
Also please tell me if i was 100% at fault

well the fact u scraped his car is ur fault mate, can't get away from that one but the bloke seems not to have helped the matter with his parking!
he was asking for something like this to happen!!
i'd own up to the scratches but if he tries to put blame on u for any other damage on his car then u should get real picky and fight him all the way!

I get really wound up by people that do that, how hard is it to reverse in between 2 lines, many a times I've gone to a car park and had to park away from the shop because of incompetent parkers
Not sure how that works though mate, I mean if you try and say it was his fault then they'll no doubt turn it around and say well, you shouldn't have tried to get in the space.
It is worth arguing the case with him about the dents though, just get what you know you caused repaired.

i think really crap drivers get embarrased when parking, instead of reversing and straightening up etc (they probably think they might hit a car by doing this) they just leave it and run.

Damage on his doesn't look too bad at all from the picture.
His car must ride high (I know your's is low) to have been caught there.

well you chose to go and try and park there, and it seems like you weren't looking where you were supposed to

That's not a very good excuse though, if someone is parked like that, I don't think I'll do it as well.
I drive off and find a space where people have parked properly so I can.
That's just me though.
