How do i find the paint code?

I know my car colour is called Pearl Diamond Black, but where do i find the actual code i need to order it from VW. Thanks in advance

I think its LC9Z

Your VW dealer can look it up for you via number plate or VIN number

As loud said, it's in your boot on the left hand side under the carpet.

yup under the boot lining.
mine was a weird code
and apparently a rare colour being.. Blue-Anthracite Pearl

Defo LC9Z Pearl Black or in seat C9Z Black magic. Same colour.

i went to VW and they ran it through the VIN, came out as C9Z, wonder what the L stands for

VW paint codes start with L, but I think it makes no difference?

i was wondering how big is the spray can is that VW sell to you for 12 quid, i bought the touch up paint and its tiny! I need to get more paint to paint my whole thingy from the grill, so how many of those spray cans will i need?

VW spray paint is only 150ml, comes with laquer too though

old post i know, but a few questions i wanted to ask.

is selling 400ml paint + g3 compound. what on earth is g3 compound. is it another name for lacquer??

i need a small amount of paint for paintiing smallt things like the badges etc so just wandering if the above stuff is any good?

G3 compound is a cutting compound made by Farecla. A lot of body shops use it to bring the car up to a nice shine after the bodywork has been flatted.

hmm. so its not absolutely neccesary is it. surely paint then lacquer would do the job?? wouldnt it??

For little stuff like badges, Paint followed by Lacquer is fine.

I've got one to Lacquer on Saturday, it'll be my 4th 6N2 rear badge 8)

I've also done 3 front badges a GTi badge and a 9N badge which is a bit harder.
