Cam belt warning

Just a bit of advice about if you have got a polo 6n2 1.4 16v.
Driving to my local city the other day pulled of the roundabout and got the wierdest noise ever from the engine!
Pulled over to check it out and couldn't figure what it was, so i decided to take it to volkswagen and see what was up. Got there and got one of their mechanics to come and check the noise out and he told me to stop the engine quickly. Turns out it was my cam belt roller disintigrating and the noise was it sloping around and hitting the cam belt cover. lucky enough it didnt snap. The annoying thing is the car has only done 56000 miles.
Thought i would pass this message on to save you a few pennies.
I have a mate who works for volkswagen and he has said its a common problem.
