Hey welcome to the forum!
The airbag light means theres a fault with the system, mines been gone for ages i just pulled the plug out of the back of the light. The MOT station knows about the failed system and says it doesnt matter. Beware that they can cost a lot to replace and that it might not be worth it.
As for the instruments, i dont mean to insult you but have you made sure that the instrument panel lights are on (the curled disc under the light switch adjusts them) its an easy mistake to make, if not you'll have to remove the instrument pod and swap the bulbs, its not too hard.
Hope this helps

Now Then mate,
If by the airbag light you mean the orange. one you will needa diagnostic test which they will tell you staight away what the fault is!
I had one done these are F***in expensive so i got one of my mates who works at a skoda dealer to do it on the low
He then came back and told me it was the split ring in the wheel that has the electrics wired to it.
So if its a common occurance (which most faults are on polos) it may well be the same problem.
Hope this helps mate

hey thanks guys - i will wait before it gets dark and check the lights - hopefully it was me being thick!
the airbag light is the one on the switch - can i pull the switch off and remove the bulb. is it as easy as that? what about the wires?
my clutch sounds rusty so i went to euro car parts and got a cable for like £13. thats cheap, mate will fit it.
cool - thanks for the quick responses..

the best way is to take the stereo out and pull the plug from the back of the light, but you can also prise the 'switch' out with a screw driver although it is easy to damage the dash this way. Hope this helps
