Hi guys.
I have a VW polo N reg 1995. 1.4 cl.To-day I tried to order front

With regards to your enquiry you need to check to see if you have solid or vented discs on you vehicle -
Solid discs £10.00 + vat each , matching pads either £14.50 or £11.75 + vat
Vented discs £19.50 + vat each , matching pads £19.85 + vat
Thanks

i have a feeling there vented disks. or they are on my car ( 1999 1.4L)
take the front wheel off and have a look at the disk if there is like a hole in the middle fo the disks going round the edge with slats in kind of like a water wheel then its vented. if not its a solid disk.
60155 BRAKE DISC-VENTED BREMBO PO (Ex. 16v) 95> (Ch.6N-SW-008501>;6N-SY-087411>) 19.50 Add
60155F BRAKE DISC-BREMBO'MAX' PO (Ex. 16v) 95> (Ch.6N-SW-008501>;6N-SY-087411>) 24.50 Add
62357 BRAKE DISC-SOLID POLO ALL 95> TO Ch '6N-SY-087410;6N-SW-008500 10.00 Add
62358F BRAKE DISC-VENTED X DRILL POLO ALL 95> (EXC 16v) after ch 6N-SW-008501;6N-SY-087411 28.50 Add
they look like all of the options on the polo and it seems the majoirty are vented. its a fiar bet yours are to. and go for the brembo max disks. there pretty good quality.

i have a funny feeling vented disks are thicker. so you need a type 2 caliper or i could just be talkin out my arse. as mins running vented with type 2s.

ring the main dealer, they should be able to tell you. or you could take a front wheel off, and find out

Many Thanks guys.I have established the brakes are vents.
The vented ones are nearly double the price of the solid variety.
Decisions, decisions , I intend to keep this car for a long time.
I had it MOTed yesterday and the bloody examiner went through
it like a fine tooth comb try as he may he could'nt fault it.
Since I intend keeping it maybe when it does need the brakes
I should opt for the vents. .

theres no choice.
your car has vented disks as standard for a reason. you must use vented disks or better when you change them.
the reason you have vented disks is cos you car is higher in performance than say the 1 litre and is capable of higher speeds 100mph instead of 90.
so the heat stresses put on the disks are higher meaning they must loose the heat faster then you can put it into them ( causing fade)
puting solid disks on your car is like putting steel disks on the konisegg. ( if you didnt knwo there ceramic as standard and have optional carbon brakes)
the only choice you may have when you upgrade is to buy OEM vented or go the whole hog and buy x-drilled or grooved. ( i think the grooves are marketing s**t but i need to find something to prove me wrong. whereas the holes seem to be more substantial)
