Hey all, I've owned my mk2 since Feb, bought it from an old dear where I live who hadnt driven it for about 6 months, anyway, I dont really use so was wondering what it was worth. Its just about to hit 70k and has history, tax'd till Jan and Mot till Nov. The alloys are speedlines are were really corroded, I tried to restore them but they were too gone so painted them black! There are a few little dinks in it and some surface rust here and there but I reckon it all adds character! Interior is spot so so what do people reckon it is worth? :?

welcome to the forum westie, pity it sounds like you won't be around long

looks like a nice mk2 there, not very often you see a black squareback 8)

as for price i think £300 top is about what you're aiming for, dents and rust never add character unfortunately so depending on the extent it may be less.

...or another idea would be to maybe restore it and use it as a retro runaround?

I'm in 2 minds what to do, would like to keep it but am being put under severe pressure from the missus! If I keep it then I am going to lower it big time  anyone know where I can get cheap springs?

You want to speak to Phil J about a set of springs.

Ideally you should be looking at one of his spring and damper kits, they are around £130.00 odd plus postage.

I've heard excellent things about the H&R Cup kit that he sells, including claims that it is a better kit for performance than the KW Varient 2 coilovers which cost about 5 times more. My friend has a set on his G40, very nice ride.
