gti lowering

Whats the best way about lowing a polo gti!? i know i could ither go shock/springs or coilovers! but which kit! coilovers are best?
dont wanna spend a lottery win on them but am willing to buy decent ones! dont want it to become a crap ride when it is lowered but Do want it lower than 60mm
help would be greatly appriciated
